11/17/19 - Russ Locke, Ray Sabo & Wild Mountain Mystics

Between the two of them, Russ Locke and Ray Sabo have played with and/or shared the stage with just about everybody in the Southern California music scene.

Having met in the early seventies at The Whole in Glendale, where their style of guitar playing and songwriting was shaped and influenced by the many talented players who passed through the club, they recently realized that they knew some of the same obscure guitar arrangements and decided it would be interesting to try them as duets. Hence the duo. Along with their own originals and covers by some of their favorite local songwriters, you will find yourself singing along to songs you never knew that you knew. And everybody needs a little R&R.

Wild Mountain Mystics plays music ranging from tender-hearted love songs to foot-stompin' folk blues. They play mainly on guitar and mandolin, but each of them are multi-instrumentalists and are not afraid to explore new territory and take a few chances on stage. While they do sometimes sing about loss and heartache, their music most often focuses on love, generosity, and kindness. Appalachia meets Woodstock. Jamband Folk.
