10/14/22 - Beth Fitchet Wood & Steve Wood + Jodi Siegel

These three artists have appeared together multiple times, performing at each other’s series. Most recently, Beth and Steve have graced Jodi’s Project Barley showcase, and Jodi has performed...

at Beth’s Tuesdays at Laguna Beach Live.

Jodi Siegel will open the show for Beth and Steve. During her career, Jodi Siegel has created a heady and dynamic stew of musical influences (blues, pop, R & B, soul and jazz) into a sound and a style that make her a triple threat; songwriting, singing and guitar playing. Jodi’s fine-tuned solo performances are likened to a “one-woman” band!! Her truly original style can fill a room with explosive slide guitar, jazzy vocals and a fun, easy going rapport with her audience. She can go from funky bluesy grooves to folk to jazz and back again with ease. She’s an old soul with a fresh sound.

Jodi Siegel was born in Chicago, IL. The Home of the Blues! She eventually relocated to California and began playing and singing in countless blues, R & B, pop and original music bands throughout Orange County, San Diego and Los Angeles. Over the years Jodi has opened for and or shared the stage with many respected musicians including: Albert King, Robben Ford, Robert Cray, J.D. Souther, David Lindley, Fred Tacket and Paul Barrere (Little Feat) and countless others. Her songs have been recorded by Maria Muldaur -“So Many Rivers To Cross,”-cowritten with Daniel Moore and “If I Were You”-cowritten with Danny Timms, Marcia Ball -“So Many Rivers To Cross.”) and Teresa James "Come Up and See Me Sometime" -cowritten with Danny Timms and “EIEIEIO” co-written with Terry Wilson.

Her new album, “Wild Hearts,” produced by Steve Postell (Immediate Family, David Crosby, Iain Matthews), is filled with great songs, cool grooves, intimate, smart lyrics and some of the best of the best musicians in Los Angeles today including; Mike Finnigan (organ, piano), Hutch Hutchinson, Abe Laborial Sr., Alphonso Johnson (bass), Russ Kunkel, Michael Jerome Moore, John Ferraro, Arno Lucas (drums, percussion), Joe Sublett (Saxophone) and Maxayne Lewis and Clydene Jackson (background vocals). Each song has a soulful delivery with an undeniable down-home elegance.

“Wild Hearts” charted #1 on the WERU radio top ten blues chart and the title song ( co-written with Harold Payne) was a finalist (RnB category ) in the USA Songwriters Competition. Visit Jodi's Website

Beth Fitchet Wood and Steve Wood

Keyboardist Steve Wood and guitarist Beth Fitchet Wood have a long, checkered past in music, together and separately (Honk, Kenny Loggins, Jackson Browne, Sting, Paul McCartney, Dave Mathews and film composition). Adventurous and curious, they are not limited or defined by style. Their music expertly combines folk, pop, rock and jazz with soaring vocal harmonies and well crafted songs that are lighthearted, serious, romantic, sarcastic and always unpredictable. After decades of playing music together their chemistry is undeniable and fun!!

Beth Fitchet Wood and Steve Wood have a long trail of accomplishments in music. A few select milestones would include: members of legendary band Honk, who toured with The Beach Boys, Loggins and Messina, Chicago, etc. and made 3 albums on major labels, live and recording appearances with Jackson Browne, Kenny Loggins, Sting, George Harrison, The Moody Blues, Paul McCartney

Steve Wood toured throughout the 80’s as Keyboard and Music Director for Kenny Loggins, and became the most awarded composer of IMAX soundtracks, collaborating with Sting, Paul McCartney, Dave Matthews and many others. He has also produced national and international acts, CD’s and live concerts.

Steve Wood’s brand new album, his first since his last album (vinyl) in 1981, is currently #1 on the Roots Music Report Folk Rock Chart. Half a dozen cuts from that CD are also charting on the singles charts.

Beth has recorded a dozen well received solo albums in folk, jazz, pop and children’s music genres, and produced the decade long weekly Laguna Beach Songwriter’s Showcase, “Beth’s Tuesdays”. Beth has also received multiple awards for her songs over the years including winning the Best Song(s) award at the Tucson Folk Festival in 2009 for “Red Red Sky'' and “Peace in the Valley.”

Beth and Steve have been together for over 48 years, gigging all that time, so they are getting pretty good at performing together.
