05/26/22 - The Roadhouse Series: A Tribute to The Traveling Wilburys

In the annals of rock history the spring of 1988 will go down as a time when the planets aligned, the stars shined a bit brighter and music shook the land from musical giants.

The Traveling Wilburys were born. As one of the founding members, George Harrison, put it, it was a time of friends coming together that was unexpected, unplanned and brought about a unique musical magic.

In May of 1988, over a period of three weeks, with a rare clearing in their otherwise busy schedules, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn and Jim Keltner spent three unhurried weeks bonding, visiting, writing and recording songs under the fictional band name, The Traveling Wilburys.

With all six artists in peak creative form, the sessions proved to be inspired fun among friends. The result was two albums of engaging, humorous, energetic, driving and celebrative music They went on to chart two albums in the top ten on international charts with both albums going platinum and winning a Grammy for Best Rock Album by a Group or Duo.

This special evening at the Roadhouse will celebrate the band's most loved collective and solo efforts with the best of L.A.'s singer songwriters and musicians. Led by a band of Wandering Wilbury Lonely Hearts including music director, Rick Bagby (Let It Be-A Beatles Tribute), Owen Goldman(Robby Krieger) Paul Marshall (I See Hawks in L.A.), Al Bonhomme, and Neil Rosenberg.

The event will be co-hosted by Terry Paul Roland and Nicholas Guzman-who will also perform.

Our performing artists include Karman Jeanne, Fjaere, Frankie Mooney, Henry Zhao, Randy Miller, Eric Chase, Donna Barnes-Roberts, David Fry, Fish Olmos, Doug Reichert, Pat Nason, Sandra Macat, Joel Bennett, Kathryn Ourlian, and Matt Bunsen.
