MATINEE! A Folk rock acoustic duo. A husband wife team of songwriters known for tight harmonies, The Kirbys have toured and performed together for the past 25 years.

The Kirbys tell stries of their experiences that become songs, interacting with the audience between songs, and making new friends everywhere they go. If you love music and song craft, you’ll enjoy the show!

The Kirbys are an Americana Indie-Folk Rock Band formed by Kate and Andrew Kirby and based in Texas. The Kirbys combine tight harmonies, strong melodies, and driving beats with haunting guitars, from 12-string to slide, to create their unique sound. The Kirbys tour and perform as a duo in acoustic or electric settings with hours of original material and select covers in their own style.

Andrew Kirby is an American composer and musician whose work has appeared in television and film for more than 20 years. Andrew has performed along side many well-known popular musicians in California and his home state of Texas. Honing his craft from an early age, Andrew plays many instruments, but his primary instruments are piano, guitar, keyboards and vocals. Andrew's 12-string guitar is the backbone to many of The Kirbys songs.

Kate Kirby is a singer/songwriter and educated musician who started her career in music playing French Horn in bands and orchestras throughout Texas and New Mexico. Kate is a vocalist who also plays bass, acoustic guitar, and percussion. Her primary interest in music is songwriting and performing those original songs to audiences all over the world. Although you'd never know it from the comfort she shows on stage and interacting with the audience, she is a reluctant 'front man' and would rather the music speak for itself.

In addition to performing at venues across the U.S., the couple host and stream concerts at their studio in the piney woods of East Texas.
