06/08/19 - The Licata Brothers and Friends

New CD Release Party and Concert!  Please join us for this rare confluence of musical innovation grounded in classics, youthful exuberance, and well-honed professional training.

It will be an unforgettable evening of entertainment for all your friends and family.

The infectious, youthful enthusiasm and eclectic musical mélange of Jimmy and Tony Licata and friends returns to the Coffee Gallery Backstage to celebrate the release of "Kindle the Flame", the third CD and first concept album by The Licata Brothers. This ten-song musical tour de force, done in collaboration with some of the top professional talent in the LA area, explores the human search for a sense of purpose in life. This concert also marks the graduation of Jimmy Licata from the Music Industry Studies program at Cal State Northridge (CSUN) and Tony Licata from Pasadena City College.

Returning again with The Licata Brothers are two outstanding university-trained musicians. Daniel Markus of Arcadia, halfway through the CSUN Music Industry Studies program, consistently brings down the house on drums while Sonny Kennelly of La Cañada-Flintridge, a graduate of the USC Music Industry Studies program, is a producer and working professional bassist who has opened for the likes of Bon Jovi.

Yosi Mesbah of Los Angeles - Making her Coffee Galley Backstage debut, this recent transplant from Nashville has an eclectic and diverse style that weaves sonic stories which cut through to the heart of things with a wisdom beyond her years and a hope not dulled by experience. In addition to an active performance schedule, Yosi also collaborates on music for the CW TV series “My Last Days”.

A new generation has arrived at the Backstage.
