04/26/19 - Joe Hall and The Cane Cutters

Bob Stane says…."this is an encore at The Coffee Gallery Backstage. Be here when “other” parts of America come to our stage. This is New Orleans at it’s best.

You really should want to see, and hear, what they do in one of our most famous, and adored, cities. Big band, exotic sound, singing and playing. They do it all. Wear your beads and we will see you on the bayou. Glance down and read the credits. Love this group!!! Well worth the price."

Playing to a sellout crowd the last time he appeared at The Coffee Gallery Backstage, Joe Hall & The Cane Cutters will be returning for another rare appearance on Friday April 26 celebrating the release of his latest CD, “Aye Cher Katin.” Sung in “Old School” Creole French, this CD honors his grandfather “King” Ned, who’s music was recorded by the Smithsonian and lives on in the Smithsonian archives today. “I want to honor my Grandfather,” Hall says. This CD includes original tunes as well as old standards. Click the links below to listen to a few samples.

As a child, Hall learned to play accordion from his Grandfather and legendary Creole musicians “Bois Sec” Ardoin, Canray Fontenot and many others. Sung in the original Creole French, Hall’s songs will take you back to the dance halls and honky-tonks of southwest Louisiana as he plays Creole two-steps and waltzes and narrates his performance with stories of growing up at his Grandfather’s knee.

Described by OffBeat Magazine as playing “amped-up Creole La La,” Hall has been honored to be selected to play at New Orleans JazzFest, Blackpot, Festivals Acadians, Dewey Balfa Cajun & Creole Week, Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival and the famed Liberty Theater.

I guarantee you will LOVE his show!

If you missed the fun of Mardi Gras, come get some! If you want to extend the fun you already had, this is the time and the place!

Joe will be available to sign his CD’s. Come get them while they last! Give him, and the band, a big hug.
